Trudy misses here garden,so we have been thinking of someway to have a small one.beside the house is a spot the dogs run,it faces the south sun,and I have some empty DEF barrels .and about 30 treated 2x6 leftover from the  deck I built here 5 yrs ago.

I steam cleaned the halfs today.  besides my smart neighbors from Newfoundland said DEF is from the PMU horse barns across Canada ?

heres what Mrs Google says about it.

Potential short term health effects  Routes of exposure Eye, Skin contact, Inhalation, Ingestion.  Eyes May cause irritation.  Skin May cause irritation.  Inhalation May be harmful by inhalation. May cause respiratory tract irritation.  Ingestion May cause stomach distress, nausea or vomiting. Target organs Eyes. Skin. Respiratory system. Signs and symptoms Symptoms may include redness, edema, drying, defatting and cracking of the skin.    Symptoms of overexposure may be headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea and   vomiting.

In doubt ? line the barrel halves with 6 mil black plastic, put some drain holes in add the planting mixture and you should be good to go.
